AD023-Distributor of Professional Audio and D J Equipment

Distributor of Professional Audio and D J Equipment

Ref.AD023
Location North London
Asking Price £540,000

Business Profile
Following in excess of 23 years in trading and retailing high-end Audio Visual equipment, the vendor established this stable and growing business in 2005 to focus on the Professional Audio and D.J equipment sector.
From the outset the business has focused on its reputation for delivering all types of equipment, including hard to find and discontinued items. Alongside the major OEM electrical companies, and the high-end niche manufactures, the business stocks from a wide range of suppliers across the industry. As such they have developed a true one-stop shop for the AV installer, Professional D.J., and Nightclub / bar looking to source and implement the best equipment in the market.
The business sells mostly through wholesalers and distributors, with some direct retail orders. Approximately 25% of orders are for the U.K. market, with 75% destined for Europe. They have agreements in place with some major continental distributors, including Germany’s largest retailer.
The business has won a number of exclusive sub-distribution agreements with niche high-end manufactures for U.K. and Eire. Also with the amount of trade the business is capable of, they are continually offered “Direct Dealership” opportunities with major brands such as Sony, Panasonic and Pioneer. Should the retail operation be expanded, this can easily be capitalized on.
The business is currently located in a large and flexible building in North London, allowing for storage and warehousing on-site, with office space and a small retail area. The business can be re-located, the vendor is open to leasing the premises at market value to a new owner, or selling the freehold of the building.

Lifestyle Express Convenience Store for sale
Very Profitable Convenience Store - Newsagent & Off-Licence Run Under Management

Ref. AF173
Location Worcester City Centre
Asking Price £21,000

Business Profile
Established over 7 years ago this modern convenience store operates primarily as a newsagents and off-licence supplying a range of customers within the community it serves. A well located convenience store this business sells food, confectionary and general products, alcohol, newspapers and cigarettes etc. all of which bring a growing number of repeat customers into the store, on a regular basis.
The location of this business is superb and it brings in a constant stream of paying customers. The store is situated on a walking and driving commuting route, serving a college, residents and local businesses including the Worcester race course, cricket ground, hotel, and restaurants and bars. 70% of customers are regular customers and the remaining 30% as passing through (shopping on the high street, tourists, etc.). We are advised the business only utilises some 25% of the available space within the premises.
This has been an  extremely profitable business with excellent turnover and profits to  date. Figures for current year are down (see below for reasons)  and it is offered at a very realistic price for a quick sale. . The business is now  run under management and has  generated excellent returns for the vendor.
This  has been  a very well-managed, easy to run business. With turnover historically  averaging in excess £9,000 - per week , this represents an excellent opportunity to acquire a well located convenience store and off licence, that is solidly established within the local community.
Since July 2015  the vendor has put in place a manager to run things and this additional cost, as you  would expect , has impacted sales and profitability for the current year,  as has the poor weather.
Because the vendor is now not working in the business full time it has also  started to get stock delivered but again this is incurring additional costs that would not necessarily be incurred by a new owner.

Customer service:

The business manages many customers in any normal working week and has the range of stock and processes (including modern EPOS system) to ensure that customer needs are satisfied fully. Customer service and presentation is very important to the business, the vendor ensures that staff are polite, helpful and efficient with customers.
This customer management and satisfaction is backed up with the provision of a wide variety of products and services from which comes customer confidence and is responsible for the business benefiting from a growing customer base.
